James Earl Chester, 83, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday January 28, 2018 at Regency Manor following a period of declining health.
Mr. Chester was born January 5, 1935 to the late Earl and Inell Chester and had been a resident of Dawsonville most of his life. He owned and operated Chester’s Body Shop in Conyers for many years until his retirement. A member of McKee’s Chapel United Methodist Church, James was a simple man who was loved by all. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Dennis Chester and Wayne “Cabbage” Chester.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Jimmie Ann Chester, Dawsonville; daughters and son in law, Peggy Christmas, Tricia and Donnie Crump, all of Dawsonville; grandson, Brian and Jennifer Connell, Covington; two great-granddaughters, Kaylee and Emily Connell; sisters, Helen Anderson, Shirley Bruce, Teresa Parton, Connie Sosebee, Melba Fricks; brothers, Norman Chester, Bennie Chester, David Chester, Marty Chester; his beloved dog, Jane Russell; other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 31, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sven Mossinger and Rev. Ronnie Sosebee will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour on Wednesday.
