Dorothy “Dot” Allen Pirkle, age 95, of the Buford, GA Hog Mountain community passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Hoyt Pirkle; parents, Charlie and Lennie Allen; brothers, L. C. Allen and Milford Allen. Mrs. Pirkle is survived by children, John Pirkle, Buford, GA. and Dr. Jack Pirkle and wife Pat, Gainesville, GA, and Joan Pirkle Seaton and husband Kirk, Shelbyville, TN; grandchildren, Brandon Dudley, Jennifer Dudley Lewis, Kevin Dudley, Ashley and Larry Durham, Allison and Mark Ellis, Shawn Pirkle; great grandchildren, Alexis Dudley, Presleigh Dudley, Payton Dudley, Paxton Dudley, Christopher Lewis, Jase Parker, Will Durham, Colby Ellis, Gracie Pirkle, Dillion Pirkle; sisters, Gladys (Leon) Kimbro, Buford, GA, and Ruth Allen Brown, Lawrenceville, GA; sister-in-law, Lenora Allen, Flowery Branch, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Pirkle was born on August 7, 1922 in Lawrenceville, GA. She received her education from Dacula School, Sunny Hill, and Hog Mountain School. Mrs. Pirkle was a homemaker. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, GA and also a member of New Covenant Baptist Church in Dacula, GA. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Boyd Langley and Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Hog Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Dacula, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 6 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
