Joseph William Mize

Joseph William Mize, ('Bill,') died peacefully Tuesday, February 13 at his home near Dahlonega, Georgia at the age of Sixty three.  He was survived by his wife Gloria, His Daughter Tammy (Jeff) Emmett, and his sons Joseph William(Rebekah) Mize, Jr. and Matthew Phillip Mize, and Grandchildren Carissa Mize, Autumn Mize, Jacob Emmett, Levi Emmett, William Mize, Shawn Mize, Elizabeth Mize and Dylan Mize, Jeffrey Emmett, Kaitlyn Emmett.

Bill was born August 12, 1954 on a mountain farm near Walhalla, South Carolina.  His family later moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he attended school.  In 1972 he joined the United States Army and served in Germany. 

After receiving an Honorable Discharge he served in the Army reserves while working foe Owens Illinois Glass Company in Hapeville, Ga.  Shortly before retirement Bill moved to Dahlonega, Ga where he has lived for several years.

A memorial service is scheduled Sunday February 18, at four pm.  Family will receive friends from 1pm until service time.
