Thomas “Tom” Eugene Hindman, Sr

Thomas “Tom” Eugene Hindman, Sr, age 70, of Gainesville, GA passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Northeast GA Medical Center.

He was born June 2, 1947 in Soddy-Daisy, TN to the late James and Jessie Hindman. He worked as a truck and auto mechanic for 45 plus years. He loved anything to do with automobiles and also had a love for auto racing. Tom was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He had a way of making people smile. He gave so much joy to everyone he met, especially his friends at Fresenius (Lake Lanier Kidney Care) and mountain Medical Transport. -Thank you for taking care of him-

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jessie Hindman; grandparents, Oscar and Eva Barbee, who loved and cared for him for many years; and sister, Glenda Hindman; brothers-in-law, J.D. Cooke and Herman Nelson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Faye Hindman, Gainesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Cat Hindman, Lake Wylie, SC; daughter, Christie Buffington, Gainesville, GA; granddaughters, Bailey Hindman, Chattanooga, TN; Karly (Dustin) Hindman, Rock Hill, SC; Elizabeth (DeVonte) Leach, Rock Hill, SC; Crystal (Josh) Stott, Dahlonega, GA; Briana (Christian) Kirk, Braselton, GA; and Allyson (Matt) Barnes, Lancaster, SC; grandson, Justin (Yuriah) Stott, Gainesville, GA; great grandchildren, Kaden, Jayson, Brandyn, Aaliyah, Thomas, Cassidy, Cayne, Tinsley, and Cylis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Alice Hindman, Soddy-Daisy, TN; and Donnie and Lois Hindman, Dayton, TN; brother, Kenny Hindman, Soddy-Daisy, TN; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Johnny Gill, Martin, GA; sisters-in-law, Frieda Cooke, Soddy-Daisy, TN; and Brenda Nelson, Soddy-Daisy, TN.

A Celebration of Life Service for Tom will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.

Rev. Jason Buffington will officiate.
