Opal Jean Bond

Obituary Date: Tuesday, April 3, 2018

Opal Jean Bond, 77, of Gainesville, GA., passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop George Wangemann and Bishop Kevin Riley officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on June 16, 1940 in Gainesville, GA she was the daughter of the late Thomas “Tom” Joy and Maude Emaline Reynolds Joy.

Mrs. Bond was retired from the Hall County School System where she was a custodian. She is a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Mrs. Bond is survived by her husband of 61 years, Howard Wendell Bond of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Darryl and Gwendolyn Bond of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Ricky and Trish Bond of Crestview, FL; daughter, Cheryl Loggins of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Sonah and Kevin Riley of Destin, FL; daughter and son in law, Charlene and Shane Martin of Flowery Branch; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 1 sister and a number of other loving relatives.
