Pierce "Elvie" Dacus

Mr. Pierce “Elvie” Dacus, age 70, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. He was preceded in by his parents, James and Annie Dacus; granddaughter, Ansley Dawn Powell; and brother, John Dacus. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Mildred Setser Dacus, Flowery Branch, GA; children, Anita and Mark Powell, Lebanon, TN, and Michelle and Steve Seabolt, Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Brittany and Jonathan Gaines, Joshua Seabolt, Justin and Susan Seabolt, Anthony Seabolt, Nathan Seabolt; nine great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Gordon Fox, Loganville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Donna Dacus, Gainesville, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Dacus was born September 16, 1947 in Atlanta, GA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Vietnam Era. He was a 1966 graduate of Norcross High School in Norcross, GA and was a retired supervisor from the Street Department of the City of Atlanta with twenty-seven years of service. He was a Mason and a member of the Norcross Masonic Lodge #228 F.A.M., a Shriner and a member of Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta, GA for the past forty years and also a member of N.E. Dekalb Shrine Club. Mr. Dacus was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, GA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Shadburn, Rev. Ronald Lewis and Rev. Joel Shadburn officiating. A Masonic Graveside Service will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park in Norcross, GA with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
