Cathy Mahaffey

Cathy Mahaffey was born on January 8, 1955 in Gainesville, GA to the deceased mother Mrs. Hazel Buffington and father Clyde (Barbara) Buffington of Indianapolis, Indiana.  Cathy was raised in Gainesville and attended and graduated from Gainesville High School. Later in life, she relocated to Atlanta, GA and worked numerous jobs, but her favorite one was raising her kids.  She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memories her children Maurice, Corey and Tyrone Williams; longtime partner Madison (Steve) Sypho; her siblings Teresa (Lewis) McTush, Carolyn Buffington, Patrick (Michelle) Buffington, Michael (Barbara) Buffington of Indianapolis, Indiana; eight grandchildren, one great granddaughter; long time friend Starr Smith of Gainesville, GA and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at New Salem Baptist Church, Jefferson, GA at 11:00 PM.  Visitation will be held at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM.  Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home, Gainesville, GA. 325 Summit Street, Gainesville, GA, 30501
