Betty Ruth Rucker

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Betty Ruth Rucker, age 67 of Commerce, Georgia who entered into rest Friday, May 11, 2018.  Mrs. Rucker was born in Commerce, Georgia a daughter of the late Thurmond Rucker and Alice Blanche Rucker of Commerce.  Mrs. Rucker was of the Christian Faith and first retired from Stand Coosa Thacker after twenty-five years of service and later from the Commerce Police Department after twenty-three years of service.

Survivors include two daughters, Catrice Rucker Shivers and her husband Gregory of Villa Rica, and Nakia Rucker Sorrells and her husband Jacob of Commerce.  One son, Stefan Rucker and his wife Amy of Charlotte, North Carolina.  Three sisters, Elaine Gatheright, Loretta Rucker and Carol Scott all of Commerce and a brother, John H. Rucker and his wife Willie Eva of Commerce.  Special friend Frank Rakestraw of Jefferson.  Seven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild also survives.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 14, 2018 from the Piney Grove Cemetery in Commerce, Georgia with officers from the Commerce Police Department serving as Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday, May 13, 2018.
