Uel Henry Patrick Sawyer

Mr. Uel Henry Patrick Sawyer, age 87 of Oakwood, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Waterford Assisted Living following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 3:30 pm in Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Jack Chalmers will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home. 

Mr. Sawyer was born June 12, 1930 in Nassau, Bahamas to the late Vertron Sawyer and Marjorie Sawyer.  He was retired from Roy West Trust Company as a Trust Officer and was a member of Northeast Church.  Uel was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ruth Sawyer and his brother, Jack Sawyer.

Mr. Sawyer is survived by his wife of 32 years, Merla Reed Sawyer of Oakwood, his daughter & son-in-law, Cindy & Kenneth Edge of Braselton, his sons & daughters-in-law, Ricardo & Teresa Sawyer of Flowery Branch, Dwight & Pam Reed of Braselton and Dwayne & Elaine Reed of Auburn, Georgia, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
