Hoyt Kenneth “Kent” Andrews

Mr. Hoyt Kenneth “Kent” Andrews, age 82 of 967 Wards Circle, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A son of the late Hoyt and Martha Ledbetter Andrews, he was born May 10, 1936 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived a greater part of his life in Stephens County. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Reserves. He was retired from Patterson Pump and attended Lamar Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Andrews.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Joyce Andrews; daughter, Tori Andrews Higginbotham of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Rhonda Andrews of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Caleb and Victoria Higginbotham and Hillary and Zack Myers; great-granddaughter, River Grace Higginbotham; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Dean Andrews of Jefferson, Roger and Barbara Andrews of Toccoa, David Andrews of Auburn, Georgia and Doug Andrews of Alto, Georgia; three sisters and brother-in-law, Frances Kesler of Westminster, South Carolina, Abby and Sandy Oddo of Grand Haven, Florida and Sara Bradford of Raleigh, North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Frances Andrews of Hartwell, Georgia and Rosett Poole of Canton, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 22, 2018, 2 O’clock p.m. at Lamar Christian Church with Pastor Chad Holcomb and The Reverend Steve Andrews officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Bryan Andrews, Caleb Higginbotham, Zack Myers, Johnny Hendrix, Cody Hendrix and Symon Clouatre. The following will serve as junior pallbearers, Carter Hedrick, Harison Hedrick and Dalton Conn.

The family will be at the home on Wards Circle and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Kenneth “Kent” Andrews.
