Mrs. Madeline Gloria Varrieur, age 86, of Hoschton passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with interment following at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. Father Branson Hipp will officiate. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mrs. Varrieur was born January 19, 1932 to the late Theophill & Marie Cora Chassey in Brockton, Massachusetts. She was a retired Librarian with the DeKalb County School System, a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, and a member of the Sapphire Lakes Garden Club and Bible Study Club. Mrs. Varrieur had a great love for Reading, was a great Croquet Player, with everyone wanting to be on her team, and enjoyed entertaining.
Mrs. Varrieur is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Paul & Cynthia Varrieur of Marietta; daughter & son-in-law, Karen & Jay Danielson of Mabelton; daughter, Nancy A. Wiggins and Ron Jankowski of Burbank, California; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Wiggins, Beth Wiggins Moulton and Barclay Rose Varrieur; and 2 great grandchild, Moira Madeline Moulton and Alanna Dee Moulton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Edmond Varrieur; parents; and brothers, Theophill Chassey, Charles Chassey, Roland Chassey, Armand Chassey and Leo Chassey.
