Bertha Alene Grogan

Mrs. Bertha Alene Grogan, age 63 of Maysville, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens following a sudden illness. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Ken Ausborn will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 4 – 8 pm at the funeral home.     

Mrs. Grogan was born June 10, 1955 in Sewannee, Tennessee to the late George Richard Simmons and Annie Christine Shetters Simmons.  She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.  Alene was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Joe Simmons and Richard Simmons, Jr. and granddaughter, Hailey Taylor.  

Mrs. Grogan is survived by her husband, David Grogan, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Janie & Tom Melton, Margie Hendrix, Janet & Raymond Releford and Annie & Buddy Hoosier, brother & sister-in-law, Charles & Ruth Simmons, children, Dale & Kim Nunley, Christy & Brandon Brooks, Jessica & Jeremy Adams, Tammy & Doug Crumley, Harlee & Sean Cheshire and Hanna Grogan, grandchildren, Kaleb Adams, Taylor Nunley, Kallie Brooks, Ashleigh Brooks, Konner Adams, Kaydee Adams, Tyler Crumley, Madison Taylor and Megan Underhill..
