Gene William Robinson

Gene William Robinson, 80, of Gainesville passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Ricky Stone will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

A Lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Robinson was born on July 11, 1938. He was the son of the late William and Lacleta Martin Robinson. Mr. Robinson  graduated from Sardis High School and attended Truett McConnell College and graduated from the University of GA. He served in the Naval Reserves and was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Mr. Robinson was a Mason for 50 years and a Shriner; he was a radio announcer for WGGA in the 1960’s and a Real Estate Broker/Appraiser. He was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sue Robinson of Gainesville; sons and daughters in law, Chris and Julie Robinson of Gainesville, Jeff and Patty Robinson of Pendergrass; grandchildren, Rebecca, Tatum, Faith, Ethan; sister and brother in law, Joan and Bill Pugh of Auburn, AL and a number of other relatives.
