Eleanor Theresa Giddens

Eleanor Theresa Giddens, age 96 of Flowery Branch, GA, passed away on August 10, 2018 in Hoschton, GA. Visitation will be held at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM with a service in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Rev. Bruce Shortell will officiate. Burial will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Eagle Ranch (eagleranch.org/give) in memory of Eleanor. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Giddens. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Tanya Giddens; son, Jeff Giddens; grandchildren, Justin Giddens and wife Nicole, Amanda Hartley and husband Gilbert, and Alayna Giddens; great-grandchildren, Ellie Jane and Emma Grace Giddens, Caden Thomas and Anson Hartley Gilbert; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Odie Belisle. Eleanor was born on May 17,1922 in Keansburg, New Jersey. She married Howard W. Giddens in 1954 and worked alongside him for 15 years as office manager for the University Yacht Club on Lake Lanier until their retirement in 1995. As the wife of a Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army, Eleanor enjoyed travel and living in Germany during the early years of raising her two sons. She loved sports, in particular, watching the Falcons and the Braves.
