Herman Guy Porter

Mr. Herman Guy Porter, age 75 of Oakwood, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Memorial services are scheduled for Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Reverend Brian Hall will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 4 – 6 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Porter was born November 26, 1942 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Guy Porter and Pearl Skinner Porter.  He was retired from Elan Pharmaceutical Company and was of the Baptist Faith.  Herman was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Alice Brenda Porter.  

Mr. Porter is survived by his children, Amy & Harry Puckett of Buford, Tony & Sonya Porter and Alan & Robyn Porter, of Gainesville.  Also, his grandchildren, Haley & Josh Powell, Nathan Porter, Allison & Travis Little, Kristen & Gage Spires, Brandon Puckett and Ashley Porter, his great-grandchildren, Annabelle Powell, Rhett Little, Leighton Spires and Landon Spires and his sister, Mary Jo Byrd of Columbus, Georgia.
