James Henry (Jimmy) Steptoe

James Henry Steptoe (Jimmy) passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at New Horizons North in Gainesville, Georgia at the age of 86. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ramona J. Steptoe (Jayne) of Gainesville, GA; his son Brian Derek Steptoe, Daughter-in-law, Nancy Steptoe, granddaughters Breanna and Sabrina Steptoe of Flowery Branch, GA. Plus several half-siblings and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, James Leon Steptoe of South Carolina and Ola Steptoe Gosch of Arizona and his half brother Paul Gosch also of Arizona.

Jimmy was born on October 5, 1931 in Georgia to James and Ola. He was retired and enjoyed walking, meeting new people, and collecting his cans. He definitely did his part to make the Earth a cleaner, greener place. All that met him and knew him recognized that he was quite a character. He was an active and dedicated member of the church before he went to New Horizons in 2017.         

Family and friends viewing is scheduled for Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 6:00-9:00pm at the Memorial Park Main Campus in Gainesville, GA. A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:30pm at Faith Tabernacle, 3956 Blackstock Road, Talmo, GA. Cremation will be handled by Memorial Park. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jimmy’s life. The family would like to thank New Horizons for their dedication and service these last two years.
