Hattie Louise Gunter

Hattie Louise Gunter, 88, of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Gunter and Rev. Jeff Worley officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday September 14, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on January 11, 1930 in Colbert, GA she was the daughter of the late Richard and Trecia Payne Bradley. She was a homemaker and very emphatic and tender hearted toward those in need or the less fortunate. She loved to saw and was known as the “Apron Lady”.  Mrs. Gunter loved her roses. She loved to read her bible daily and loved gospel music. She was a very good cook.  Mrs. Gunter also loved reading and writing poetry.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gunter is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ernest Ray Gunter; brother, Jack Bradley and sister, Joann Bennett.

Mrs. Gunter is survived by her daughter and son in law, Vickie and Arthur Carver of Gainesville; daughter, Patsy Gail Patrick of Gainesville; son, Michael Gunter of Clayton; son, Philip Gunter of Cleveland; daughter and son in law, Deborah and Danny Owen of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Ricky and Jan Gunter of Ellisville, MS; daughter, Robin Lynn of Flowery Branch; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
