Dorothy M. Garrison

Dorothy M. Garrison, age 93, of Martin, GA passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, Mitchell Garrison and her first husband of thirty years, Hugh James McDearis; daughters, Carolyn Eison and Patricia Burton. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Gail McDearis, Martin, GA; son-in-law, Bill Eison, Milledgeville, GA; grandchildren, Kathy and Jerry Hawkins, Lawrenceville, GA, Brian and Lisa McDearis, Loganville, GA, Kimberly and Douglas Byron, Flowery Branch, GA, Karen Georges, Cumming, GA, Leslie and Joel Ostroff, Seattle, WA and James and Dana Burton, Duluth, GA; seven great grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; sister, Gerald Johnson, Decatur, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Garrison was born September 5, 1925 in Suches, GA. She was a former resident of Dunwoody, GA for sixty-five years. She was retired from A & P Food, Inc. in Atlanta, GA after forty years of service. Mrs. Garrison was a member of Coopers Creek Baptist Church in Suches, GA. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, GiGi, sister and friend. She was a matriarch to her family and extended family. She was devoted to fellowship with loved ones and understanding the quality of life is based off of the relationship you share with others.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
