Thelma Ruth Prescott

Thelma Ruth Prescott, age 91, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away September 21, 2018. Formally of Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Laster Raymond Prescott;  son, Douglas Raymond Prescott;  grandson, Robert Laster Prescott and sister, Ealender Ophelia Aycock. She is survived by her children, Susan (Stephen) Dickson, Lawrenceville, GA, Michael Prescott, Decatur, GA, and James (Deborah) Prescott, Eden, NC; six grandchildren, Zack Miller, Jake Miller, Brooke (Eric) Druckman, Emily Prescott, William Prescott, and Michelle (Lance) Pearson;  two great grandchildren, Carter Druckman, Abigail Druckman;  sisters-in-law, Florence Prescott, Covington, GA and Velma Prescott, Covington, GA;  niece, Diane Aycock, Greensboro, NC.  Mrs. Prescott was born September 18, 1927 in Atlanta, GA.  She was a 1945 graduate of Commercial High School and attended Georgia State University. She worked for a number of years as an adjudicator with the Veterans Administration Hospital, in Atlanta. Mrs. Prescott attended 12Stone Church in Lawrenceville, GA and was a member of several Bible study groups.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, loved reading and enjoyed studying the Bible. The family will have a visitation on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral service will be Monday, October 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Hampton officiating. Interment to follow at the Floral Hills Memory Garden in Tucker, Ga.
