Mr. V. Lamar Waldrip, age 85 of Gainesville, passed away on September 29, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Waldrip was born on August 8, 1933 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Vertis Waldrip and the late Dot Boleman Waldrip.
Along with his parents, Mr. Waldrip was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Lawson Waldrip. He is survived by his daughter Susan McDonald, son Steven Waldrip, daughter Sherry Dott Waldrip; Craig McDonald; grandsons Harrison Waldrip, Taylor Waldrip, Chip McDonald, Chance McDonald, Cleve (Anna) McDonald; great grandchildren Xavier, Cierra, Carson and McKenna; sister Sue Birdsong; special friends Earl Butler, Sr.
Mr. Waldrip owned and operated Best Home Sales and retired in 1982. He continued to sell property for the next 34 years. He was a graduate of Gainesville High and attended North Georgia College and Georgia Tech. He was a die-hard Georgia Tech fan.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the funeral home.
