Ruth Chatham Peevy

Ruth Chatham Peevy, age 88, of Braselton, GA passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Rev. Robert D. Peevy; parents, Henry M. Chatham and Lizzie Chatham; step mother, Susie Chatham; sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace and Harold Stephens and Elizabeth and Earl Brogdon; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Marie Chatham; brothers-in-law, Bill Taylor and B. W. Towler; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Willie Ruth and Holland Burnette, Dorothy and Dave Reynolds, Barbara and J. D. Emerson, Sue and J. W. Griffin, Opal and J. W. Parks and Gwyn Leach. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Valorie Peevy, Pelham, AL and Michael and Susan Peevy, Buford, GA; grandchildren, Kim and Shane Herrera, Jon and Tiffany Peevy, Amber and Charlie Timms and Brandon and Christie Peevy; great grandchildren, Jacob Pendley, Sam and Michaela Herrera, Bradley, Linsey and Gracie Peevy, Riley, Haley and Rachael Smith, Wyatt and Maddie Timms, and Kennedy, Reagan and Hayes Peevy; sisters, Geneva Taylor and Charlotte Towler; brother-in-law, Jack Leach; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Peevy was a former employee of Georgia Boot and Chicopee.

She was a resident at The Olive Branch Personal Care Home in Braselton for the last 3 years. She was a member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford, GA with Dr. Craig Dale officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville, GA. The caregivers of The Olive Branch Personal Care Home will serve as honorary escort and are ask to meet at the church at 1:45 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday October 2, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
