Clara Jean Lunsford

Mrs. Clara Jean Lunsford, age 87, of Dahlonega passed away Friday, October 19, 2018.

Mrs. Lunsford was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was born on December 24, 1930 to the late Judge and Annie Smith Stringer. She was the last survivor of her six siblings. Of the many ways we tell family and friends we love them, feeding them is at the top of the list. You could not stop and see Mrs. Lunsford without her making sure you got something to eat. She was called “Granny” by her grandchildren who she loved very much. Mrs. Lunsford was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church Number 2.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Waldo Lunsford; daughter and son in law Jan and Larry Robinson; son and daughter in law Jerry and Penny Lunsford, all of Dahlonega; grandchildren Josh and Ashley Robinson, Lyndsey and Clint Freeland, and Laura Lunsford; great grandchildren Jack Freeland, Rhett Freeland, and Evy Freeland; several, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, October 22, 2018 in the chapel of Anderson- Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Stephen Gerrells will officiate. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
