Jan Burt

Jan Burt, age 58, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018.

Jan was a native of Dahlonega, member of Friendship Baptist Church, loved traveling, gardening, a devoted friend, great love and passion for directing the educational growth of new students at UNG. She was the Drill Sergeant, Navigator, and Boss of her sisters.

Ms. Burt is preceded in death by her mother Lillie C. (Jarrard) Burt. Jan is survived by her father JB Burt, sisters Lynn (Larry) Armstrong; Brenda Knapp; Jeannine Burt; and aunt Virginia Jarrard. Nieces and nephews; Trent Armstrong, Troy Armstrong, Shelly Riddle, Stefanie Yoon, Sebastian Knapp, Jesse Rockmore, and Jordan Rockmore; numerous other relatives also. Also surviving are lifelong devoted friends Deb McLeod, Laura Allen, Dr. Carmen Mas and many other lifelong friends.

The funeral service will be 11AM, Sunday, November 4 in the Chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home with interment following at Dahlonega Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 2pm to 8pm at Dahlonega Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Division of McDonald Family Funeral Homes.
