Edward Vasco Hughey

Mr. Edward Vasco Hughey age 78 of Jefferson Georgia entered eternal rest on November 12, 2018 after a brief illness.  He was born October 17, 1940 in Jackson County Georgia to the late Rev. V. S. and Mrs. Lucy Bell Martin Hughey.  

Vasco was a 1962 graduate of Bryan High School.  He attended Solar Tech/Jackson Creative and worked for Quality Foods for several years.  His love of reading was phenomenal and was always a movie lover.   He was a “people person” who never met a stranger.  His gift to life was to make everyone happy.

“June”, as he was so affectionately called was preceded in death by his only sister, Mrs. Lucille Hughey-Cooper.

His life will be cherished by his brothers, Willie (Annie) Hughey, Jefferson Georgia; Ralph Hughey, Jacksonville, Florida; the Rev. J. T. (Glenda) Hughey, Athens Georgia; John (Brenda) Hughey, Gainesville, Georgia; and Bobby (Vivian) Hughey, Stone Mountain, Georgia; brother-in-law, Rev. R. E. Cooper, Jefferson, Georgia.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul First Baptist Church, Jefferson, Georgia with interment to follow in St. Paul First Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. J. T, Hughey, Eulogist and Rev. Robert L. Wilson, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the St. Paul Baptist Church, 573 Gordon Street, Jefferson, Georgia.
