James Larry Davis

Mr. James Larry Davis, age 80, of Gillsville passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Gary Wilson will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2018 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis was born November 7, 1938 in Jefferson, Georgia.  He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and a retired Cab Driver, driving for Veteran Cab Service.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Sherron Turner Davis of Gillsville; son & daughter-in-law, Tim & Carla Davis of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters, Deborah Alexander of Gainesville and Shelby Crider of Gillsville; grandchildren, Kelsey Alexander and Shannon Alexander; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters-in-law, Stanley & Lynne Blackwell of Dallas and Jeffrey & Jessica Blackwell of Clarksville; sisters & brothers-in-law, Linda & James Bryant, Nancy & David Spain, and Darlene & D.J. Duran all of Gainesville; sister, Elizabeth Hewell of Flowery Branch; and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Jimmie Clara Davis Blackwell.
