James W. Avery, age 61 of Nicholson, GA passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at his residence.
Born on Dec. 29, 1956 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late James M. and Helen Smith Avery. He was a truck driver with Pippin Trucking, of the Baptist faith, a Navy veteran, and is preceded in death by a son, Colby Dozier and daughter, Lisa Avery.
Survivors include Valerie Cummings Avery of the residence; sons, Kevin Cummings and Jimmy Parrish, both of Nicholson; daughter, Ashley Campbell, Nicholson; and 4 grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Avery will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Nicholson Baptist Church with Rev. Vaughn Howington, Jr. officiating.
