Bob Meister, Jr.

Bob Meister, Jr., age 97, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018.

Mr. Meister was born on October 23, 1921 in Athens, Georgia to the late Robert Lee Meister, Sr. and Grace Dailey Meister. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia. Mr. Meister was a United States Navy World War II Veteran. He was an Electrical Inspector with Webco for several years. Mr. Meister was also a volunteer Fireman with Cornelia Fire Department.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Charlotte Sullivan Meister, of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Ken Shore, of Demorest; granddaughters and spouses, Ellen and Chris Smith, Karen and Steve Klacik; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Smith, Sarah Smith, and Reed Smith.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Dr. Eric Spivey officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Navy, Grant Reeves VFW Post 7720, American Legion Post #84, and the Rabun County DAV #15.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the funeral home prior to the service.
