Joseph Junior Cummings

Joseph Junior Cummings, age 87 of Commerce died Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Cummings was born in Charleston, WV to the late, Joseph and Violet Marie Chesnutt Cummings.  Mr. Cummings was retired from Central Truck Lines, a member of Rogers Baptist Church, and a US Navy Veteran.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Cummings was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry Dean Cummings and Alan Mitchell Cummings.

Mr. Cummings is survived by his wife, Delores “Del” Douglas Cummings of Commerce; daughters, Karen St Pierre of Ila and Lisa Watson of Danielsville; son, Gary Cummings of Elberton; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 29^th at 2:00 PM from Rogers Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Vickery officiating with the interment following in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12-2 PM.
