Velma Sullens

Mrs. Velma Sullens, age 76, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

Mrs. Sullens was born in Lumpkin County on March 25, 1942 to the late George Tate and Margaret Mozelle Ridley Grizzle.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry Lee Sullens, daughter Sara Nell Taylor, sisters Violet Blackwell, Viennie Roberts, and Verbie McClure, brothers Vernon Grizzle and Verlon Grizzle. Mrs. Sullens was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her grandchildren Brian and Teresa Hicks, and Regina Taylor; great-grandchildren Courtney Hicks and Lacey Hicks; sisters Viola Holden, Rome, Vienna Jones, Summerville, and Verdie Head, Calhoun; brother Venson Grizzle, Rome; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2019 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.  The Rev. Mike Harris will officiate.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour on Friday at the funeral home.
