Peggy “Sue” Robinson

Mrs. Peggy “Sue” Robinson age 80 of Gainesville passed away on Saturday January 26, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness.

 Funeral services are scheduled for Friday February 01, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Ricky Stone will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 31, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

 Sue was born on September 28, 1938 in Habersham County to the late Cliff Lyon and Reba Tatum Lyon. Sue graduated in 1956 from Nacoochee Valley High in Sautee-Nacoochee Valley, Ga. She played Basketball and was named “Miss White County”. Mrs. Robinson attended Truett- McConnell College in Cleveland, Ga where she was a cheerleader. She was retired from Hall County School System where she was a Para- Professional and Media Clerk at Lanier Elementary School.  She was an active member of Cool Springs Baptist Church, she also belonged to the Lanier Shrinettes. Sue also served as a Cub Scout den mother for several years and volunteered at the Gateway House. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene W. Robinson. Sisters, Bea Hansford, and Ann Vaughn and brother, Latt Earl Lyon.

 She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Julie Robinson of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Patty Robinson of Pendergrass, grandchildren, Rebecca Robinson of Atlanta, Tatum Robinson of Gainesville, Faith Robinson of Pendergrass, and Ethan Robinson of Pendergrass, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan and Bill Pugh of Opelika, Alabama and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Homestead Hospice for their exceptional care for Mrs. Robinson.
