John “Johnny” Wade Leaphart

John “Johnny” Wade  Leaphart, age 70, of  Lawrenceville, Ga. passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Louise Graham Leaphart and Robert Julian Leaphart. He is survived by his children, Robert “Bobby” (Angela) Leaphart, Lawrenceville, GA, Jess Chitwood, Clarksville, GA; granddaughter, Kyndra “Baby” Leaphart; sisters, Julie (Larmar) Hardy, Snellville, GA, Janet Robertson, Hoschton, GA, Jenny (Timothy) Fortner, Tucker, GA; brothers, James (Barbara) Leaphart, Atlanta, GA, Jerry (Myrna) Leaphart, Dahlonega, GA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Leaphart was born November 15, 1948 in Atlanta, GA. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam war. A 1968 graduate of Bass High School in Atlanta, GA. He was a retired painter and construction worker. A member of Loganville First United Methodist Church, Loganville, GA  Johnny will miss his beloved dog and companion Cotton.  Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m Saturday, February 23, 2019 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA. Interment to follow at College Park Cemetery with full military honors at 2:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association. Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 22, 2019.
