Phillip R. Eidson

Mr. Phillip R. Eidson, age 83, of Hwy. 17 South in Martin, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Stephens County Hospital.

A son of the late Phillip R. Eidson and Ruth Yow Eidson, he was born December 23, 1935 in Stephens County, Georgia, was reared in Orlando, Florida, and moved to Martin, Ga. in 1984. Mr. Eidson was a veteran of the United States Army and also the U.S. Army Reserves for a number of years. He retired from Belk Department Stores. He was first in sales and later the Division Manager at Belk in Orlando, FL and later at the Atlanta, Ga. and Savannah, Ga. locations. Also, he attended UGA where he was a drumming major and a member of the UGA marching band. Mr. Eidson was of the Presbyterian faith.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Eidson and Greg Eidson, by a close cousin and caregiver, Russ Williams, and also by a number of other cousins.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 7, 2019, 2:00 p.m., at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Joe White officiating.

The family will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the service hour.

Interment will be at Martin Baptist Church Cemetery, Martin, Ga., following funeral services.
