Frances Walters

Mrs. Frances Walters, age 102, of Cleveland, GA, passed away at her home early Sunday, April 28, 2019.

Frances was born in Newton, KS on January 7, 1917 to the late Clyde Holman and Louise Holman.  Frances was the eldest of 7 children.  She spent most of her life in Southern California where she was employed as a supervisor for 18 years at General Telephone Co, which later became Verizon.  Later in life she moved to Cleveland to be closer to her daughter.  She was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Cleveland, GA and the White County Senior Center in Cleveland, GA.  In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her siblings, Glen Holman, Robert Holman, Jack Holman, Edgar Holman, Clyde Holman, and Jane Holman.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis Richard "Dick" Walters.

Survivors include her children, Dennis Walters and wife Susan of Ann Arbor, MI, Robert Walters and wife Rachel of Eureka, CA, James Walters and wife Jamie of Covina, CA, Steve Walters and wife Nola of Temecula, CA, and Kathleen McMillan and husband William of Helen, GA; Grandchildren, Nichole Greene, Jeffrey McMillan, Victoria Walters, Julianne Saratsis and husband George, Jon Walters and wife Jennifer, Andrew Walters and wife Bridget, Monica Walters, Bobby Joe Walters, Kelly Evans and husband Eric, Shannon Walters, Christopher Walters and wife Heather; as well as 18 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 pm, Friday, May 3, 2019 at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Cleveland, GA.  There will be a small reception to follow at the church hall.  

The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home in Cleveland, GA on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 5 pm - 7 pm.  

Flowers will be acknowledged; however, it is requested that memorial donations be made to the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, 1243 Hulsey Rd. Cleveland, GA 30528 or the White County Senior Center, 1239 Helen Hwy, Cleveland, GA 30528.
