Joan Aiken Bernard

After a two year battle with lymphoma cancer, Joan Aiken Bernard, age 67, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 in Gainesville, GA.

Joan was born in Gainesville, GA to the late David and Beatrice Buffington Aiken.

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Bernard of Gainesville, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Ed Crawley of Virginia Beach, VA, granddaughters, Ashley Landrum of Spartanburg, SC, and Jasmine Crawley of Virginia Beach, VA, grandson Eddie Crawley of Virginia Beach, VA, great grandson Jayden and great granddaughter Averie of Spartanburg, SC, and sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Don Reagan of Gainesville, GA.

Mom had an outgoing and positive personality!  Always smiling and looking on the brighter side of everything, even while battling cancer.  She loved meeting and talking to people.  She loved animals and is survived by her loving dog Neka!!

We would like to especially thank her lifelong best friend, Nancy Gilmer, for all her help, love and support throughout our Mother’s illness!!

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504.
