Lois Cooper Mitchell, age 105, of Auburn, GA passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Kermit K. Mitchell; daughter, Carolyn Mitchell Patrick; sons-in-law, Bo Patrick and Billy Moore; and grandson, Billy Patrick. She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Mitchell Ivester and husband, Doug, Greensboro, GA and Betty Mitchell Moore, Auburn, GA; grandchildren, Ken Ivester, Kim Patrick and husband, Pete; Kandice Patrick Anderson and husband, Clint, Angela Moore and Lorie Moore; great grandchildren, Ansley Moore, Greg and Lauren Folger, Kaitlyn Clark, Gracie Belle Anderson, Blake Ivester and Peyton Ivester; sisters-in-law, Gussie Parks Cooper, Fayetteville, GA, Jean Mitchell, Oakwood, GA and Louise Mitchell, Hampton, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Mitchell was born July 12, 1913 in Talmo, GA. She received her education at Hog Mountain School in Gwinnett County, GA. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener and cook. Mrs. Mitchell was the oldest member of Antioch Baptist Church in Buford, GA. She was a precious loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she was the matriarch of her family. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Gamble and Rev. Ronnie Coley officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 18th, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 19th, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:30 p.m.
