Ruby Rachel Cathey Dunbar

Ruby Rachel Cathey Dunbar, age 84 of Mendenhall, Mississippi, formerly of Sautee-Nacoochee, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 20 2019.

Born in White County, Georgia on May 07, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Ralph & Docia Welborn Cathey. Mrs. Dunbar was a retired co-owner of J&R Dukes Auto Parts where she specialized in counter sales. She was a member of the Old Nacoochee Baptist church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe R. Dunbar, Jr., brothers, William Cathey & Young Cathey.

Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Roxie Dunbar Deese & Ed Deese of Mendenhall, MS; son & daughter-in-law, Joseph “Joe” R. Dunbar, III & Kirsty Dunbar of Sargent, TX; grandchildren, Evan Joseph Dunbar & Emily Grace Dunbar; sister & brother-in-law, Yvonne & Fred Lovell of Clarkesville, GA.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Flynn officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
