Samuel Engle

Samuel Engle, Jr., age 93, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019. He was preceded in death by his sons, Tom Engle and George S. Engle, III. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert D. and Kerry Engle, Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Frank and Cara Engle, Marietta, GA, Jessie Patrick Harrgin, Cumming, GA, Robbie and Adrianna Engle, American Falls, ID and Greg Engle, Hattiesburg, MS; five great grandchildren, Hank Harrgin, Grace Engle, Beau Harrgin, Sam Engle and Bridger Engle. Mr. Engle was born April 3, 1926 in Hagerstown, MD.

He was a 1944 graduate of Greenbrier Military Institute in West Virginia and a 1950 graduate of Washington Lee University with a Bachelor’s Degree. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in World War II. Mr. Engle, Jr. was owner of Today Transfer Trucking Company in Chamblee, GA for thirty years. He was a member of the Appalachian Trail Club, Georgia Atlanta Chapter. There will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Appalachian Trail Club, P. O. Box 654, Atlanta, GA 30301 in memory of Samuel Engle, Jr.
