Jean Rogers Thompson

Jean Rogers Thompson, age 83, of Hoschton, GA passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence “Pete” Rogers and Thelma L. Rogers; and brother-in-law, Bill Youngkin. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edgar “Ed” Thompson, Hoschton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Steve Rubin, Decatur, GA and Lori and Bill McLaughlin, Hawaii; granddaughter, Eva Jean Rubin, Conway, SC; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Youngkin, Dayton, OH and Louise and Hurly Tate, Efland, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Marcia Rogers, Statham, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Thompson was born August 21, 1935 in Orange County, NC. She was a 1953 graduate of Alexander Wilson High School in Graham, NC and also took speedwriting courses and computer classes. She was retired from Lisa Thompson and Associates, Home Interiors and Furniture Upholstery. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church in Dacula, GA. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church, 1450 Pine Road, Dacula, GA 30019, with Pastor Jason Mincey officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at a reception in the church fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church Building Fund or to a charity of your choice in memory of Jean Rogers Thompson.
