James 'Jim' Kunkle

James “Jim” Kunkle, age 56, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

He is survived by his wife of ten years, Krista Mathews Kunkle, Sugar Hill, GA; children, Jamie Christine Kunkle, Sugar Hill, GA, Molly Kunkle, Sugar Hill, GA, Deborah Fidler, Sugar Hill, GA and Emma Kunkle, Sugar Hill, GA; mother Esther Kunkle, Richwood, OH; sister, Cheryl “Sherie” Ross and husband, Charlie, Snelling Grove, PA; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Erica Kunkle, Starksville, MS; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilson and Judy Mathews, McDonough, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Debbie Mathews, Boone, NC; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Kunkle was born February 23, 1963 in Cleveland, OH. He was a 1981 graduate of Marion High School in Marion, OH and a 1985 graduate of Miami University in Miami, OH with a Bachelor’s Degree. He served in the U. S. Marines. Mr. Kunkle was a senior network engineer with System Office Solutions. He was a member of Sugarloaf United Methodist Church in Duluth, GA. He was an Eagle Scout. Mr. Kunkle was an avid Ohio State University fan, enjoyed playing sports especially basketball, and cooking.  He loved Disney.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Sugarloaf United Methodist Church with Dr. Steven Usry, Pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends at Sugarloaf United Methodist Church, 1795 Old Peachtree Road, N.W., Duluth, GA 30097 on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sugarloaf United Methodist Church for Pueblo Pintado Mission Fund, 1795 Old Peachtree Road, N.W., Duluth, GA 30097 in memory of James “Jim” Kunkle.
