Gene Lamar Sutton

Gene Lamar Sutton, age 89 of Buford, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019.

Mr. Sutton was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Judy Imogene Sutton, father Zachariah Sutton, mother Georgia Mae Jarvis Sutton, brothers Frank Sutton, J. C. Sutton and sister Bernice Livingston.  He is survived by his son Zack Sutton of Buford and nephew Joe Livingston of Andalusia, Alabama.  He is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.

Mr. Sutton was born February 11, 1930 in Andalusia, Alabama and spent his professional career with the U. S. Postal Service, most recently as an Audit Team Leader as a Postal Inspector.  After retirement he was active in the National Association of Retired Postal Inspectors, the Class of 1948 Scholarship Foundation of Andalusia High School, and in the Bogan Park Seniors Group as part of the Goldwing Club.  Gene was also active in the Sola Fide Lutheran Seniors Group.  He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Sola Fide Lutheran Church in Lawrenceville for 41 years.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 12:00pm at Sola Fide Lutheran Church in Lawrenceville.  Pastor Michael Kober will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the beginning of the service at 11:00am.  Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Andalusia, Alabama.
