Thomas Dan Carter

Mr. Thomas Dan Carter, age 64 of W. Currahee Street, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at his residence.

A son of the late Henry L. “Buddy” and Hazel Adams Carter, he was born March 13, 1955 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was employed with the Toccoa Police Department for 16 years and later with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Department and the Lavonia Police Department for a number of years. He most enjoyed the logging business which he owned and operated for 19 years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Carter and by his beloved dog, Maggie.

Survivors include his son, Scott Carter of Toccoa; his uncle, Royce Carter who he worked with in the logging business; a number of nieces, nephews and aunts.
No services are planned. His wishes were to be cremated.
