Samuel Charles “Sam” Thompson

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Samuel Charles “Sam” Thompson, age 71, of Maysville, who passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019. Mr. Thompson was born in Monroe, Georgia, a son to the late Houston and Betty Moon Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a JROTC Instructor for Jackson County High School and attended Apple Valley Baptist Church. Mr. Thompson was retired from the Georgia Army National Guard after 33 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Thompson of Maysville; son, Chuck Thompson and his wife Jill of Portage, MI; grandchildren, Samuel Thompson, Chloe Thompson, and Caitlin Thompson; sisters, Edith Leach and her husband Ray of Gainesville and Telesa Kendall and her husband Ronnie of Loganville.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 4:00 PM in the Apple Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Clarence Cannon officiating.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home.
