Barbara Jayne (Jacobs) McMichael

Mrs. Barbara Jayne (Jacobs) McMichael, 78, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019.

Mrs. McMichael was born on October 17, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Curtis J. Jacobs and Sara (Roderick) Jacobs. Mrs. McMichael was Professor Emeritis of English and Literature. Her teaching career included tenures at Gwinnett Technical College, Gainesville College and State University, Georgia State University, West Georgia College, and Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka, Alaska. She was a student of a course in miracles.

She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Charles T. McMichael and her sister, Julie (Jacobs) Langley. She is survived by her son, Chris McMichael (Beth); brother, Curtis James Jacobs, Jr.; grandchildren, Allan and Christianna McMichael and Anabelle and Chloe Etterling; a number of nieces and nephews; and all of the many friends, family members, and students whose lives she touched.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
