Bernice Thurmond

Bernice Thurmond, 92, of Gainesville passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Born on January 5, 1927 in Commerce, GA she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ina Burns Law. She was a homemaker and a member of the East Gainesville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. She loved to travel and had visited 47 of the 50 states. She loved to talk.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thurmond is preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Thurmond; brother, Ollie B. Law; sisters, Alice Faye Law and Julie Gatlin.

Mrs. Thurmond is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Durant of Philadelphia, PA, Emma Tutman of Gainesville, Honor Raye Hall of Gainesville, Betty Joyce Owens of Gainesville; brother, Edward Law of Gainesville and a number of nieces and nephews.
