Katie Lawson Southern

Ms. Katie Lawson Southern, age 90, of Braselton passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at The Waterford at Oakwood, surrounded by her family.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home.  Rev. Mike Garner will officiate.  The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Ms. Southern was born November 14, 1929 to the late Joseph Len & Ada Palmer Lawson in Yadkin Township, North Carolina.  She was a member of Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church and Bookkeeper at Industrial Electric for 25 years.

Ms. Southern is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Kent & Teresa Southern of Braselton; and several nieces & nephews.  Being the youngest of 11 siblings, she was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers; and 5 sisters.
