Schools expecting huge crowd

GAINESVILLE - You want a sign that football is back in Hall County?

How about this.

In anticipation of perhaps the largest crowd in 20 years to watch a high school game in Hall County, Gainesville High and North Hall are pre-selling tickets for this weekend's big football clash.

The $6 tickets are on sale at both schools beginning Wednesday and running through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.

"I don't think since maybe the Gainesville and Johnson series was real heated in the early 1980s has there been this much interest in one game," GHS Athletic Director Wayne Vickery said.

"I think it says a lot and everyone in the county is excited about how things are going football-wise."

Vickery said they are expecting a crowd of 5,000 or more at Bobby Gruhn Field, which has a capacity of about that much.
