Two tax questions on Forsyth Co. ballot Tuesday

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
CUMMING - Two recent studies have shown a yearning for green space in Forsyth County, but are residents there willing to pay extra for it?

When voters go to the polls Tuesday for the presidential primaries, they'll also find a referendum question on their ballot. It asks if they are for or against a property tax to float a $100 million bond for parks and green space. Money raised by the sale of the bonds would go to the purchase of land or enhancement of existing county property. If the question passes, it will mean another $140 in property taxes on the typical $340,000 home in the county.

Also on the ballot will be a proposal to extend a one cent sales tax.
