(Cleveland)- Cleveland Better Home Town has announced plans for the 4th Annual White County Fall Leaf Festival, which will be held Friday, October 22nd and Saturday, October 23rd at the Sautee Nacoochee Center. Heather Sinyard, Promotions Chair says, over the past four years the Cleveland Better Home Town Fall Leaf Festival has grown to include a BBQ competition. Last year's BBQ Competition was very successful and this year will bring out even more competitors because of the $7,000 up for grabs. The Kansas City BBQ Society has agreed to sanction the event.
Sinyard said, "This takes the event to whole new level and brings in teams from all over the country who follow the Kansas City competitions." In addition, Governor Perdue declared it a State Competition. The White County Board of Commissioners also presented a Proclamation to Cleveland Better Home Town in support of the event.
This year's event includes the addition of a music stage with live music on Friday night. The BBQ Tasting area will allow the public to choose the best BBQ pulled pork in town! Other activities will include a Backyard Cook Competition to find the best wings in town, a Kid's Play Area, Arts & Crafts vendors inside the old gymnasium, the Agri-fest & Country Market, a Scarecrow Decorating Competition, the Best Carved Pumpkin Contest and an exciting Public Safety display by White County Emergency Management and the White County Sheriff's Office.
United Community Bank has also signed on as the Grand Champion Awards Sponsor of the event.
