BROOKHAVEN, Ga. (AP) The city council in the Atlanta suburb of Brookhaven has decided to meet privately with owners of the Pink Pony in an ongoing dispute over the strip club.

The council on Tuesday night voted 3-1 to conduct the private meeting. WXIA-TV reports that the closed-door meeting could lead to negotiations with the club, which wants to stay in business.

The Pink Pony has been in business for 22 years, and had reached an agreement with DeKalb County allowing it to operate.

However, shortly after incorporating as a new city in 2012, Brookhaven passed an ordinance banning nude dancing in places where alcohol is consumed.

In October, the Georgia Supreme Court ruled that cities can ban adult entertainment businesses that sell alcohol.
