DEMOREST - Piedmont College held Commencement ceremonies for fall graduates at 10 a.m., Dec. 13, in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center in Demorest.<br />

President James F. Mellichamp and Board Chairman Thomas A. "Gus" Arrendale III presented diplomas to 135 students earning bachelor's, master's, specialist and doctoral degrees.<br />

The Commencement speaker was Norman Olsen, a professor with the R.H. Daniel School of Nursing at Piedmont. Olsen was this year's recipient of the Vulcan Materials Company Teaching Excellence Award.
